Jenny Barwick attended the University of South Carolina in Columbia, receiving her Bachelor’s Degree in Political Science. She went on to receive her Juris Doctorate from the University of South Carolina School of Law and was admitted to the South Carolina Bar in 2007.
Upon graduation from law school, Mrs. Barwick completed a one-year judicial clerkship in Greenville with the Honorable John C. Few of the South Carolina Supreme Court Justice. Mrs. Barwick also assisted Judge Few in teaching the rules of evidence and its many intricacies to law students. After her clerkship, Mrs. Barwick worked at the Thirteenth Circuit Solicitor’s Office, in both the Pickens and Greenville offices, for several years. During this time, Mrs. Barwick prosecuted hundreds of criminal cases and tried numerous trials involving murder, child homicide, child sexual abuse, drug law violations, violent crimes, theft, burglaries, domestic violence, and traffic offenses.
Many of Mrs. Barwick’s trials included expert witnesses, complex legal issues, multiple defendants, and multiple victims. Through the opportunities her time at the Solicitor’s Office presented, she was able to also appear in Probate Court and Family Court. Because a significant part of her case-load involved child abuse cases, Mrs. Barwick worked closely and in cooperation with the Department of Social Services (DSS).
In 2013, Mrs. Barwick opened her own solo practice, in which she practiced in the areas of criminal defense, family law, and civil litigation. Also in 2013, Mrs. Barwick became the City Attorney for the City of Liberty and acted as such until she was appointed as the Municipal Judge in 2016.
Mrs. Barwick brings these experiences to her current practice and she takes pride in dedicating her extensive courtroom experience and strong work ethic to advocating for the rights of her clients. Mrs. Barwick’s promise to you is that she will handle your case with the integrity, diligence, and ability it deserves.
