Chris heads up the Corporate Law and Business Litigation sections at Clawson & Staubes. Within his areas of practice, Chris assists corporations and other business entities with their legal and regulatory needs. He has extensive experience assisting clients with mergers and acquisitions, corporate start-ups, franchise rights, corporate dissolutions, commercial litigation, and general corporate matters. Chris also practices in the areas of securities litigation, real estate, and banking law.
Chris served as General Counsel to the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce from 2000 to 2003. In addition to his professional duties, he has been a member of the Ethics Advisory Board of the South Carolina Bar, the Chamber’s Business Expo Task Force, and the Board of Directors for the Charleston Metro Chamber of Commerce. In 2001, he was named to the Charleston Regional Business Journal’s Forty Under 40 for his public and community service. Chris currently serves on the Chamber’s Public Policy Committee, and is on the Executive Board for the Coastal Carolina Council of the Boy Scouts of America. Chris has an AV® Preeminent ™ rating from Martindale-Hubbell, and is listed in The Best Lawyers in America® 2010 in the fields of Corporate Law and Commercial Litigation (Copyright 2009 by Woodward/White, Inc.).
Chris resides in Mt. Pleasant with his wife Tanya and their three children.
