Chris Nickels is a member of Clawson and Staubes, LLC and practices in a variety of areas including HOA law, dram shop and social host liability, injury law, municipal law, and alternative dispute resolution. Moreover, Chris is a SC Circuit Court Certified Mediator.

Chris earned a BS degree in Finance & Economics with high distinction. He earned his Juris Doctorate with Honors.

In 2006, Chris graduated from the “Leadership Charleston.” In 2014, Chris advanced from the Clemson University’s Center for Economic Development “Leadership South Carolina” a statewide program designed for South Carolina’s leaders to address issues affecting quality of life for all who call the “Palmetto” state their home. In 2015, Chris concluded over four years of service on the Mount Pleasant Town Council.

Chris is married to Kim Nickels. They have three grown children and a beloved rescue dog “Ripley.” Kim is an RN who specializes in spinal care. Eric lives in Denver with his wife Stephanie. Daughter Laura graduated from MUSC and is a Dentist in Santa Monica, CA. Following her “big” sister to the “other coast”, Katherine, received her BSN from Clemson University and has accepted a two-year appointment at the UCLA Ronald Reagan Medical Center Cardiothoracic ICU.

Chris and Kim enjoy live sports and can be often found at “the Joe” cheering on the Charleston Riverdogs or at the Coliseum watching the Stingrays, Charleston’s ECHL hockey team. Chris is an active member of Seacoast Church, the Mount Pleasant Business Association and the Daniel Island Business Association.
