Chris Nickels is a member of Clawson and Staubes, LLC and practices in a wide variety of areas including automobile liability, premises liability, dram shop and social host liability, injury law, municipal law, and alternative dispute resolution.
Chris recently completed four years of service on Mount Pleasant, SC Town Council. While serving, Chris chaired the Human Resource Committee and Public Services Committees of Council.
Chris earned a BS degree in Finance & Economics with high distinction. He earned his Juris Doctorate with Honors.
In 2006, Chris graduated from the “Leadership Charleston” program. In 2014, Chris graduated from the Clemson University’s Center for Economic Development “Leadership South Carolina” a statewide program designed for South Carolina’s emerging leaders to increase South Carolina’s capacity to address issues affecting quality of life for all who call the “Palmetto” state their home.
Chris is married to Kimarie Nickels. Together, they have three children and a beloved rescue dog. Kimarie is a Registered Nurse who specializes in spinal care. Their son Eric, recently married, is a graduate of the Moody Bible Institute. Daughter Laura, also married, graduated from the Medical University of South Carolina and practices Dentistry in Santa Monica, CA. Following her “big” sister to “left coast”, their youngest, Katherine, just received her BSN from Clemson University and has accepted a two-year residency at the UCLA Medical Center Cardiothoracic ICU.
Chris is an active member of Seacoast Church, the Mount Pleasant Business Association and the Daniel Island Business Association. Chris and Kimarie love sports and can often be found hanging out at “the Joe” cheering on the Charleston Riverdogs or at the Coliseum watching the Stingrays, Charleston’s ECHL hockey team.
